A cochlear implant, which is a small electronic device, inserted surgically in inner ear provides better clarity of sound needed to understand speech and spoken.

Modern cochlear implants drive electrodes with pulsatile signals that are computed by external sound processors. Google AI share exploratory research demonstrating a speech enhancement preprocessor — specifically, a noise suppressor — can be used at the input of a CI’s processor to enhance users’ understanding of speech in noisy environments.
