Voice of Specially Abled People, an advocacy organization that is focused to spread awareness about Specially Abled People (“Divyang-jan”), celebrated Gudi Padwa this year with Maharashtra Mandal of Atlanta (MMA). Voice of SAP (www.voiceofsap.org), founded by Shri Pranav Desai, aims to inspire leaders, thousands of Indians in the US to join the mass movement of Empowering Specially Abled People, bring in their thought leadership, expertise and resources to transform India’s disability sector and ultimately create socially inclusive and fully accessible environment for the specially abled populations.

Atlanta team of Volunteers of Voice of SAP set up a booth at Berkmar High School on April 1, 2017. These volunteers spoke among 100s of MMA members, distributed vital information about Voice of SAP through flyers, newsletters and brochures. After several question-answers and discussions, the volunteers inspired at least 40+ new volunteers from different avenues of life (business owners, academic scholars, social activists, etc.) to join Voice of SAP team.

Interestingly, some of new volunteers have even moved to next steps to further push for activity and outreach to their leadership connections back in India. With such encouraging developments, strong support of MMA leadership for the cause, Voice of SAP team is looking towards organizing similar events with Atlanta based NRI community.
