Kadamba Transport Corporation takes steps to make place accessible for PwDs.
The Commission took notice of the news report that highlighted the difficulties faced by PwDs at bus terminals and station which lacked basic facilities like accessible toilets, braille signages, high level counter etc. and issued notices for compliance reports and visited the terminals after the reports were presented. The steps taken by KTC to make Bus Terminals Accessible included:
- Fitted Concrete fitted ramps
- Disable Friendly toilets
- Reserved Parking for PwDs
- Placed Wheelchair at Control Room
- Tactile Tiles for Visually Impaired
- Public Announcement Systems with audio-Visual system
- Installation of Hydraulic Lifts to make buses accessible
