VOSAP and Instalimb Celebrate the 11th International Day of Yoga

On the occasion of the 11th International Day of Yoga, Instalimb’s headquarters in Gurugram became a space of movement, resilience, and celebration as over 50 participants gathered under the shared mission of “Yoga for Every Body.” The event, organized in collaboration with Voice of Specially Abled People (VOSAP), brought together prosthetics beneficiaries, the Instalimb team, and VOSAP team for a morning that redefined what yoga — and possibility — can look like.

Where Technology Meets Inner Strength

At the heart of this gathering were the people who matter most: 15 individuals who have received Instalimb prosthetic limbs through VOSAP’s subsidized assistive technology scheme — a programme designed to make high-quality prosthetics accessible to persons with disabilities across India and US. For many of them, stepping onto a yoga mat was not just a physical act but a powerful statement about reclaiming movement, independence, and identity.

The event’s theme, Yoga for Every Body carried a deliberate double meaning. Every body, regardless of ability or anatomy, deserves access to wellness. And every body, supported by the right technology, can do more than it once thought possible.

The VOSAP–Instalimb Partnership

VOSAP and Instalimb have partnered (with a goal of 1000 beneficiaries in 2026)to bring High Quality(Made with Japanese tech), 3D Printed prosthetic limbs to beneficiaries who would otherwise be unable to access them. Through VOSAP’s assistive technology subsidy programme, individuals from economically weaker backgrounds receive devices at subsidised costs — with VOSAP bridging the gap between need and access.

A Morning to Remember

The Gurugram session saw beneficiaries who have received or are in the process of receiving devices participate alongside able-bodied colleagues and supporters. Representing VOSAP on the ground were Divyansh and Faiz from VOSAP’s Mission Team, who joined the event to engage with beneficiaries, witness the impact of the subsidy programme firsthand, and stand in solidarity with every participant who took to the mat that morning.

Yoga postures were adapted, spirits were high, and the energy in the room reflected something far greater than exercise — it reflected community.

Yoga as Advocacy

International Yoga Day, observed globally on June 21st each year, has in recent years begun to expand its definition of who yoga is for. Events like this one — where a man performs a warrior lunge on a prosthetic leg, hand raised toward the sky — make that expansion visible and undeniable.

VOSAP has long championed the idea that persons with disabilities must not only receive support, but must be seen, celebrated, and included in every dimension of public life — from sports to culture to wellness. This event was a living embodiment of that belief.

What Comes Next

The Instalimb × VOSAP collaboration continues to grow, with more beneficiaries being onboarded into the subsidy scheme and more community touchpoints like this one being planned. For VOSAP, events like the International Day of Yoga celebration are not side programmes — they are proof of concept: that when access meets community, transformation follows.
