Inclusion of Specially Abled People for Economic Expansion

Voice of SAP is playing an active role in promotion and expansion of Assistive Technology, innovations, products and Services. VOSAP launched World’s First Virtual Exhibition on Assistive Technology to expand the outreach of AT products and services, bridge the gap between global consumers and existing solutions providers, and reduce the entry barriers for suppliers/innovators to penetrate the global markets.

 

Recently VOSAP also launched the International Assistive Technology Hackathon as a way to introduce the scope and the market of Assistive Technology to the Youth who could be entrepreneurs, innovators and researchers tomorrow. VOSAP’s initiatives of Enablement with Assistive Devices have helped thousands of Specially Abled People.

 

Globally, 15% of people have disabilities in our society per WHO. Only 1 out of 10 have Assistive Devices as of now that are too expensive.

  • There exists a multi-billion $, 21st-century socio-economic expansion opportunity for entrepreneurs, innovators by harnessing the “Ability” of 1 BN+ “disabled” people by creating affordable, innovative Assistive Tech Solutions, Devices.

 

On September 9, VOSAP Founder, during a meeting with Hon.Cabinet Minister for Commerce and Industry, Govt of India, Shri Piyush Goyalji at Los Angeles, California. He presented India’s opportunity with the US and worldwide to emerge as a global hub for Assistive Technology, innovations, production and services.

 

Mr.Desai shared, “We are working on how inclusion of divyangjan through assistive technology can also be looked at as an economic expansion opportunity. India can be an export hub of assistive devices required by 1+ Billion people. How functional Specially Abled People can contribute to the economy with the help of the Assistive Tech industry. Hence it should be considered as a separate industry segment by commerce and industry ministry”

 

Hon. Minister appreciated the unique viewpoint of looking  at Disability, Assistive Technology Sector, inclusion of Person with Disability as lever for economic expansion.

 

Hon. Cabinet Minister Shri. Piyush Goyalji shared “Very valued thought. While in last few years we have been trying to make all our buildings accessible. Honestly, I didn’t think of this as an economic (expansion) perspective. This could be a unique category. This is a good idea and we need to study it further.” 

 

Hon. Minister immediately asked his team to get in touch with VOSAP Founder Pranav Desai to take this forward.
