VOSAP is very excited to announce Ms. Deepa Prabhu, one of our Art from Heart winners as the featured artist, sharing her story to inspire many more artists.
Computer engineer by profession, living in Atlanta, USA, Deepa Prabhu has displayed extraordinary enthusiasm for art. Her devotion to painting proves that she is an artist at heart. She has been passionate about art since her childhood, and she has been committed to following her passion since seventh grade. Deepa humbly mentions that she owes her success in painting to her art mentor who has been her role model and has catapulted her into following her heart. With his profound encouragement, art for her became something that she immersed herself into.
Deepa is well known for her dedication to art amongst her near and dear ones who also know that given an opportunity she could bring accolades to her name. When one of her friends from Kannada Koota heard about the “VOSAP Art from Heart” contest, she immediately approached Deepa and persuaded her to participate in the competition.

Deepa has always been compassionate towards the plight of visually challenged people and she was motivated to depict this on the canvas for the competition. It was then that Deepa, the researcher, scoured the internet for cures of blindness. She learned about the challenges of blindness and organ donation. She is moved by the idea of organ donation and is inspired by the impact a single eye donation can have in the lives of 4-5 people by giving them the gift of vision. With this theme set in her mind, she poured her heart out on the canvas for the VOSAP contest.
Acrylic paints are the medium through which Deepa expresses her thoughts on the canvas and her own paintings bring peacefulness to her life. Deepa has to her credit many paintings some of which are also available on Etsy.
Deepa has appreciated VOSAP’s initiative and was wonderstruck upon looking at the VOSAP Virtual Art Gallery. She says and I quote, “the experience is as real as walking in an art museum.” Great testament to the efforts and beautiful outcome of the VOSAP Art from Heart!
She is greatly motivated by VOSAP’s initiative and is eagerly looking forward to being a part of the VOSAP family and serving the Atlanta chapter.
