VOSAP crosses a historic milestone — and sets its sights on 1 million.

There is a number, and then there is what the number means.

100,000 is not just a count on a dashboard. It is 100,000 stories, 100,000 smiles, 100,000 moments where someone was told “you can” instead of “you can’t.” It is a child who found his vision. A young person who found their first job. A family who found hope again after feeling forgotten. It represents countless quiet victories that never made headlines — but changed lives forever.

Behind every single one of these 100,000 lives is a story of resilience: someone who refused to be defined by a disability, and chose instead to be defined by their courage, their dreams, and their determination to rise.

A Decade in the Making

VOSAP’s journey began in 2014, when our founder’s Vision 2020 — seven goals for a more inclusive India — was first adopted and institutionalized by the Government of India. Three years later, in 2017, that vision became an organization: VOSAP launched as a nonprofit, alongside the first version of the VOSAP app for accessibility and inclusion.

What has followed is ten years of compounding impact:

2019 — VOSAP earned Special Consultative Status with the UN Economic and Social Council, a recognition held by only a select group of global organizations.
2020–2021 — The VOSAP Collegiate Program expanded; the world’s first 3D Virtual Assistive Technology Exhibition featuring 35+ Assistive Technology Innovators and world’s first 3D Digital Art Gallery on the theme of disability went live, featuring work from 250+ artists from 53 countries.
2022 — Prime Minister Narendra Modi recognized VOSAP’s technology-driven impact in his national “Mann Ki Baat” address — a moment that put a decade of grassroots work on a national stage.
2023–2024 — Vision 2047 for Divyangjan in India was developed and presented at the UN High-Level Political Forum. Project HITARTH launched, opening a pathway to medical healthcare access for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

2025–2026 — Vision 2047 was directly conveyed to India’s Prime Minister and state Chief Ministers. VOSAP’s footprint reached 28 states and multiple Union Territories in India, and 4 states in the USA.

Each of these figures started at zero. Each climbed one person, one city, one partnership at a time — Ahmedabad to Los Angeles, Varanasi to Washington DC, a volunteer team that now spans 15+ cities across two countries.

What Got Us Here

VOSAP’s model has never been charity alone — it has been infrastructure for dignity, built across four pillars:

Enablement — assistive devices, surgical intervention, scholarships, prosthetics
Healthcare — Project HITARTH’s growing reach, now driving 45% of new enrollments in the Niramaya scheme and ₹7 crore in processed expense reimbursements for beneficiaries
Advocacy — sustained engagement with government, the UN, and corporate partners
Volunteering — a global base of youth, corporate, and community volunteers who show up, again and again

None of it moved without people who believed early. Our strategic partners, our donors, and a volunteer base that has grown alongside every milestone are the reason 100,000 is real and not aspirational.

The Next 10X

Crossing 100,000 lives after a decade of work is a moment to pause. But VOSAP isn’t slowing down — it’s scaling up. Our next chapter is a 10X ambition: 1 million lives, and taking the movement for inclusion to a scale it has never reached before.

That means deeper reach across India’s states, expansion of Project HITARTH’s healthcare access model, growth of the Assistive Technology ecosystem — the AT Exhibition, the AT Acceleration Fund, the AT Hackathon — and a US footprint that keeps growing city by city.

This milestone belongs to every Divyangjan who trusted us with their journey, every volunteer who showed up when it mattered, every partner who believed in the vision, and every donor who turned belief into action. We didn’t just cross a number — we crossed it together.

Because true inclusion isn’t a milestone you reach and stop. It’s a promise you keep renewing — one life, one story, one smile at a time.
