Voice of Specially Abled People (VOSAP), a US-based nonprofit organization with Special Consultative Status at the United Nations ECOSOC, continues to advance its mission of empowering People with Disabilities—whom they call Specially Abled People (SAP)—by harnessing the power of technology to unlock human potential. With a deep belief in ABILITY over disability, VOSAP delivered yet another impactful milestone with its 8th assistive technology distribution event in Maharashtra.
Held at Divyang Kalyankari Sanstha & Research Center, Wanwadi, Pune, the event empowered 75+ visually impaired beneficiaries with state-of-the-art AI Smart Glasses, taking the total number of VOSAP beneficiaries in Maharashtra to over 3,600+ divyangjan.
This initiative reinforced VOSAP’s vision of transforming lives through inclusive, technology-driven solutions that promote independence, confidence, and equal access to education and opportunities.
A Gathering of Inspiration and Impact
The event witnessed the gracious presence of Dr. Rajendra Hiremath, National Awardee, Polio survivor, successful banker, and former Chairman and Director of Janseva Sahakari Bank Ltd., Pune. His powerful message encouraged beneficiaries to develop self-reliance and aspire for entrepreneurship, rather than adopting a mindset of dependency.
Dr. Hiremath also highlighted various bank schemes available for Divyangjan, igniting new aspirations among the attendees. Recognizing this shared vision, VOSAP’s founder later proposed a collaborative effort—linking VOSAP’s financial support with the bank’s entrepreneurship schemes to accelerate livelihood opportunities for Divyangjan.
Adding to the inspirational momentum, the event welcomed VOSAP donor Anurima Ji from London, and the virtual presence of Shri Murlikant Petkar, India’s first Paralympic Gold Medallist (1972, Heidelberg), whose life story was recently celebrated in the Bollywood film Chandu Champion.
Address from VOSAP Founder: A Message of Hope and Transformation
Founder of VOSAP, Shri Pranav Desai, addressed the gathering virtually from Los Angeles. In his motivational speech, he shared real-life success stories that showed how assistive technologies—when combined with proper training, community support, and determination—can transform education, employment, and social inclusion for Specially Abled People.
He extended heartfelt gratitude to the host organization, distinguished guests, generous donors, dedicated volunteers, and VOSAP’s on-ground partners for their collective contribution in making the Pune event a resounding success.
Representing VOSAP on-site, Dhruv Chavda and Aarti Takawane ensured smooth coordination, beneficiary engagement, and seamless execution of the distribution process.
Collaboration for Greater Impact
Adv. Murlidhar Kachare, Chairman of Divyang Kalyankari Shikshan Sanstha and partner host for the event, delivered a meaningful vote of thanks and reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to creating deeper impact through future collaborations with VOSAP. The entire program was thoughtfully coordinated by Dr. Uttam Ojha, Adviser to VOSAP.
Following the device distribution, a detailed training session was conducted by technology vendors, enabling each beneficiary to confidently operate their AI Smart Glasses and begin their journey toward greater independence and enhanced learning.
The initiative was powered by VOSAP’s execution partner, Sunbots Innovation LLP, represented by Mohammad Faiz, whose operational excellence and dedication played a key role in the event’s flawless execution.
