VOSAPian Sandeep Motewar

“The quality of your life will be determined by the quality of your contribution. When you work to improve the lives of others, your life improves automatically.” – Kurek Ashley

We are excited to share the story of Shri Sandeep Motewar, who was inspired by the vision of VOSAP Founder, and became an active Volunteer, donor and is now a part of the VOSAP India Team to contribute towards empowerment of Specially Abled People.

Sandeepji hails from Hyderabad and has been a part of this mission for 5 years.

Sandeepji was inspired by the fact that Mr.Desai  himself being a polio survivor and SAP,is doing a tremendous work towards supporting other Specially Abled People in India. He shared, ”His mission and vision towards SAP is commendable, that’s the reason it’s recognized by the UN and also Hon. Modiji spoke about VOSAP in Mann ki Baat.”

On being asked what motivated him to join the mission, he shared, “I joined VOSAP 5 years ago and main reason for joining was I wanted to be a part of some Organization which is helping and supporting people, but when I came to know about the various initiatives VOSAP is undertaking towards Specially Abled People through technology, I was excited to join them.”

In his journey over years, Sandeepji inspired many of his friends and family to join the VOSAP mission.

During the tough times of Covid when the world was facing a lockdown, Sandeepji went out and helped in the Ration and Grocery Kit distribution to poor and needy Specially Abled People in areas of Hyderabad and Telangana.

He also joined VOSAP’s Enablement Event at Devnar School for the Blind where VOSAP distributed Smartcanes to Visually Impaired Students of the School and spent his time engaging and talking to the beneficiaries. Time and again, Sandeepji has always provided support to the VOSAP India team, connecting people so that the impact of VOSAP and help can reach SAP who need it.

On being asked how this journey has been, he shared, “I am blessed to be part of VOSAP. It feels so good when you see those people look happy after receiving the support from us, it gives meaning to our life and inspires others to do more of the same.

On being asked what he would like to tell other people, he shared, “I feel that everyone is temporary abled (just one bad incident and anybody can become disabled), VOSAP is leveraging so many innovative technologies and is supporting ideas that are designed for empowerment of Specially Abled People, it takes away our fear of future of the disability sector. So I would request everyone to join VOSAP and work together to make the world inclusive and accessible.”

On being asked what message he would like to give to SAPs,He shared, “ You should not feel down or depressed because of your disability, VOSAP is with you and would make sure your disability is not becoming a bottleneck  in your road towards achieving your goals and your success.”

It always inspires and motivates us to see the amazing contribution that our volunteers make in changing lives of Specially Abled People everyday and their compassion and empathy that drives this mission. We are thankful to all our VOSAPians for keeping up this spirit and making this world a better and empowered place for all.
