Pranav Desai, Founder of Voice of Specially Abled People (www.voiceofsap.org) has been appointed as Honorary Adviser to Govt. of India (Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment-MSJE, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities – DEPwD). The Vision and advocacy efforts of global volunteers of Voice of Specially Abled People has been recognized and we will continue to work closely with the department (DEPwD), leveraging global exposure to disability related solutions and effective reach to the leadership layer in India to achieve the shared goal of DEPwD and VoSAP – Empowerment of Specially Abled People in India.
Our volunteers will be participating in implementing the Accessible India Campaign, inviting US based Assistive Technology companies to India wherein Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India will provide support as a nodal ministry under “Make in India”. This will help millions of Specially Abled People to learn, work and live independently with affordable Assistive Technology solutions.
Additionally, we will be providing inputs in the areas such as Smart Cities (from Accessibility perspective), Inclusive education (e-learning etc.), Accessible Transportation solutions, Healthcare and Preventable Disabilities, Economic and financial development programs to accelerate employment and Empowerment.
We are looking forward to work with the government and contribute in nation building by virtue of our collective professional expertise and network of leaders to transform India when it comes to disability.
