Suryadeep, a bright and ambitious student from Pauni, Uttar Pradesh, was deeply focused on preparing for the IIT-JEE, one of India’s most competitive engineering entrance exams. His life took a sudden and dramatic turn when a tragic accident resulted in a spinal cord injury, leaving the left side of his body paralyzed. This life-altering event brought not only physical challenges but also the emotional strain of watching his dreams feel increasingly out of reach.

One of the biggest hurdles Suryadeep faced was the inability to hold and operate a smartphone, which had become an essential tool for learning, communication, and even day-to-day living. Undeterred by his condition, he demonstrated remarkable ingenuity—creating a makeshift tool using pens and a stylus strapped to his hat to operate his phone mounted on a stand. While this homemade solution allowed him basic access, it was far from accurate or comfortable for extended use.

That’s when Suryadeep came across Mouseware—a groundbreaking assistive technology developed by Dextroware Devices that enables hands-free control of digital devices through simple head movements. With support from VOSAP, Suryadeep received the Mouseware device, and everything changed.

Using Mouseware, he regained seamless control over his smartphone and tablet, opening the doors to independence and productivity once again. With renewed confidence, he returned to one of his passions—stock trading. He now uses his devices effortlessly to study graphs, analyze market trends, and make real-time investment decisions in stock market—tasks that once seemed impossible post-injury.

Beyond trading, Mouseware also helps Suryadeep manage everyday tasks independently, such as navigating apps, sending messages, reading online materials, and accessing educational content. With technology as his ally, he is now planning to resume his formal education, determined to continue his academic journey and chase his dreams.

Suryadeep’s story is a shining example of resilience, innovation, and the transformative power of assistive technology. With the right tools and support, he has reclaimed his independence—and his future.

What mouseware does, how it operates :

Mouseware by Dextroware devices is a head-controlled mouse that allows users to move a cursor and click without using their hands. It’s designed especially for people with physical disabilities (like spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy, etc). The user wears a small wearable device on their head, as they move their head, the cursor moves on the screen. To click the users can blink, hold their head for few seconds or can use an external switch. The device uses IMU sensor which consists of Gyroscope and Accelerometer. IMU sensor tracks head movement in 3D space and converts physical movement into digital data. Then the microcontroller sends data wirelessly (via Bluetooth) to the computer. The MousControl app processes the data and moves the cursor.
