About VOSAP

VOSAP (Voice of Specially Abled People) is a California-registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit with UN ECOSOC Special Consultative Status, dedicated to empowering persons with disabilities (PwDs) across India through advocacy, assistive technology, and community-driven welfare programs.

About the Role

As a Sahayak, you’ll be VOSAP’s last-mile community facilitator under Project HITARTH, helping persons with disabilities in your area enroll in and renew the NIRAMAYA Health Insurance Scheme. This is a flexible, community-based role — you work from your own location, engaging with PwDs and families nearby, while coordinating remotely with the VOSAP team.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and reach out to eligible persons with disabilities in your assigned area/district
• Guide beneficiaries and caregivers through NIRAMAYA enrollment and annual renewal
• Collect and verify required documents (disability certificate, Aadhaar, bank details, etc.)
• Submit accurate enrollment/renewal applications on time through VOSAP’s tracking system
• Maintain genuine, verifiable beneficiary records — all claims are subject to audit
• Offer basic guidance on disability welfare schemes and refer beneficiaries to VOSAP’s broader support services
• Share weekly progress updates with your regional coordinator
• Build lasting trust with local PwD communities, Anganwadi workers, and disability organizations (DPOs)

Who Should Apply

• Based anywhere in India, willing to work within your own community/district
• Experience in social work, community outreach, healthcare, insurance, or the disability sector preferred (not mandatory)
• Persons with disabilities and caregivers strongly encouraged to apply
• Comfortable with a smartphone and basic data entry via mobile app
• Fluent in the local language; working knowledge of Hindi/English helpful
• Empathetic, patient, honest, and self-driven
• Minimum age 18, with valid government ID proof

Compensation

Performance-linked incentive structure — a base honorarium per successfully verified enrollment/renewal, with additional bonuses for sustained renewal performance. This is a field associate role rather than a fixed monthly salary.
