VOSAP provides 25 wheelchairs at Statue of Unity

With a great sensitivity and commitment to inclusion of Divyangjan, collector office of Narmada District reached out to BPA, Voice of SAP’s partner NGO to check if we can provide 25 wheelchairs at Statue of Unity so that Senior citizens and Specially Abled People can also enjoy, visit to Statue of Unity, tallest statue in the world with height of 182 meters.

Voice of SAP is committed to this cause of Accessibility so on Feb 7 2019, team of VOSAP volunteers and BPA met with officers of Collector office and organized an event of donating 25 wheelchairs, signage to guide people etc.

This will also inspire visitors from around the world, coming to SOU to learn about VOSAP mission and potentially join as volunteer.

VOSAP thanks Dr Punanisaheb, Shri Rohitbhai, Shri Ashishbhai, Shri HArdipbhai and team of 20 volunteers who put in all the efforts for this successful event.

  1. As private vehicles are not allowed and volvo buses are used to transport disabled from the car park 30km away, how do people who use wheelchairs get to the statue? Volvo buses are not suitable for ambulant disabled or wheelchair users.
